Definitions Used in this Privacy Policy

“Client”: a customer of CMR.

“Client Data“: personal data, reports, addresses, and other files, folders or documents in electronic form that a User of the Service stores within the Service.

“Personal Data”: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

“Public Area”: the area of the Site that can be accessed both by Users and Visitors, without needing to log in.

What Information Do We Collect

The legal bases for CMR’s processing of personal data are primarily that the processing is necessary for providing the Service in accordance with CMR’s Terms of Service and that the processing is carried out in CMR’s legitimate interests, which are further explained in the section “How We Use the Information We Collect” of this Policy. 1. User-Provided Information:

* When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.  The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.  After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

**If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.  Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

3. Information from Integrated Services:

5. Information from Cookies and Tracking Technologies:

Cookies are small pieces of data that are transferred between a Web server and your Web browser and stored on your computer or mobile device as a file.

Other cookies may be stored on your computer’s hard drive by external vendors when this website uses referral programs, sponsored links or adverts.  Such cookies are used for conversion and referral tracking and typically expire after 30 days, though some may take longer.  No personal information is stored, saved or collected.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies.  These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.  These cookies will last for one year.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser.  This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We take measures to protect the technical information collected by our use of Google Analytics.  The data collected will only be used on a need to know basis to resolve technical issues, administer the Site and identify visitor preferences; but in this case, the data will be in non-identifiable form.  We do not use any of this information to identify Visitors or Users.

4. Email Newsletter:

1. Access, Correction, Deletion:

You may update, correct, or delete your Account information and preferences at any time by accessing your Account settings page on the Service.  Please note that while any changes you make will be reflected in active user databases instantly or within a reasonable period of time, we may retain all information you submit for backups, archiving, prevention of fraud and abuse, analytics, satisfaction of legal obligations, or where we otherwise reasonably believe that we have a legitimate reason to do so.

This provision does not apply to Personal Data that is part of Client Data. In this case, the management of the Client Data is subject to the Client’s own Privacy Policy, and any request for access, correction, or deletion should be made to the Client responsible for the uploading and storage of such data into the Service.

3. Opting out from Commercial Communications:

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law.

How We Protect Your Data

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How Long Do We Retain Your Data

We will store your personal information, in a form which permits us to identify you, for no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which the personal information is processed.  We will use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements and rights, or if it is not technically and reasonably feasible to remove it.  Otherwise, we will seek to delete your personal information within a reasonable timeframe upon request.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.  This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile.  All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).  Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
