San Diego, CA, August 12, 2014 — Following more than 20 years of overseeing trade promotion programs, Computer Market Research (CMR) has launched a web-based module for channel partners to manage the marketing funds that they receive from their vendors. As part of an Early Bird promotion, CMR is waiving the standard set-up fee associated with its new Multi-Vendor Co-op/MDF Management module. The promotion also features a reduced monthly subscription fee of $49.95 per internal user, available only to the first 50 account sign-ups.
Del Heles, President of CMR, shared his excitement for the new module. “We’ve been helping vendors manage their Co-op and MDF programs for years, so the processes themselves are nothing new to us. Now that we have a module built specifically for channel partners, we wanted to launch a promotion that exposes us to new clients at the partner level,” stated Heles.

The decision to build this module came after industry research revealed that nearly 50% of available marketing funds go unused by channel partners. Co-op advertising dollars and market development funds (MDF) are used in an indirect sales channel, where they are made available by a vendor to help channel partners sell more products and create brand awareness. The majority of channel partners have large networks of vendors, most of which offer Co-op dollars or MDF. Having so many vendors makes it difficult for channel partners to manage their funds, resulting in large sums of money that are never used.
Prior to the Multi-Vendor Co-op/MDF Management solution, CMR’s channel management modules were built specifically for vendors selling through the channel. These modules include Channel POS, Channel Inventory, Deal Registration, Co-op/MDF, Reseller Profile, and Channel Rebate Management. The standard set-up fee for these modules varies based on the amount of custom development required.
As part of the Early Bird promotion, the standard set-up fee for the Multi-Vendor Co-op/MDF Management module has been waived. Standard set-up includes implementation of PartnerPortal, the web-based platform that supports the Multi-Vendor Co-op/MDF Management module. Standard set-up also includes the entry of each vendor’s set of business rules for their Co-op advertising and MDF programs.
Companies eligible for the promotional offer must be channel partners that currently participate in Co-op advertising programs or MDF programs of multiple vendors.
